Lady Bastet Sandal – Elegant Nile Sailing Experience
Lady Bastet Sandal is a beautifully restored traditional Nile sailing vessel, known as a “sandal”—smaller and more agile than a dahabiya. Historically used for transporting goods along the Nile, sandals today offer an intimate, authentic cruising experience. Ranging from 16 to 25 meters and equipped with two lateen sails, these boats glide smoothly along the river. Their shallow draft allows docking at less-accessible riverbanks, immersing travelers in Egypt’s timeless landscapes and rural charm. Lady Bastet effortlessly combines heritage with modern comfort, offering a serene and personalized journey along the Nile.
Onboard Experience
Lady Bastet accommodates up to eight guests in elegantly decorated cabins. The family cabin features two queen beds in a spacious 7m² setting, while two standard cabins offer twin beds (5m² each). Two single-bed cabins (4m² each) and a guide’s cabin complete the arrangement. All cabins include oriental furnishings, ensuite bathrooms, fans, and panoramic windows for stunning views.
Sun Deck & Amenities
The upper deck is the social heart of the vessel, offering sunbeds, shaded Egyptian-style lounges, and a glass-enclosed dining room. Guests enjoy buffet-style meals, complimentary Wi-Fi, filtered freshwater, and full safety equipment. Whether relaxing with a drink, practicing yoga at sunrise, or taking in the tranquil Nile, Lady Bastet delivers an unmatched river cruise experience.
